Ft. Lauderdale's Cutest Little Theater

When my husband and I got engaged, we decided to explore fun activities we could do together, and boy, did we find the tiny gem called, Infinite Abyss Production, Ft. Lauderdale's cutest little theater, specializing in horror and darker themes. It quickly became our favorite. The intimate setup made it extra special, with the first row right on the edge of the stage. The actors often broke the fourth wall, interacting with the audience, which made the whole experience more immersive—and hilarious.

The audience had a tradition of dressing up to match the theme of the play, and for one particularly scary production, my fiancé and I went all out, transforming into zombies. I’m talking full makeup, tattered clothes, the whole undead deal. We looked so good, we could’ve been cast in the show ourselves. We were excited to pick up our best friends, Cila and Pete, who we also zombified for the night. It was going to be epic.

As we were leaving their house, we spotted their young neighbors—a couple in their early 20s—by their motorcycle. The guy was busy working on it while his girlfriend stood by, watching. Naturally, I couldn’t resist the urge to stay in character. I started walking toward them slowly, with classic zombie arms stretched out, groaning, “Braaaains… braaains…” in my best undead voice.

The poor girl took one look at me and let out a scream that could’ve woken the dead. In her panic, she accidentally knocked her boyfriend and his shiny motorcycle over! The whole scene was priceless. She bolted, while I stood there cracking up, shouting, “I’m just kidding!” But I couldn’t stop laughing—holy macaroni, my makeup must’ve been really convincing!

The laughs didn’t stop there. We swung by a gas station on the way to the theater and got a few more compliments on our zombie looks. By the time we arrived at the theater, we were practically celebrities for the night, and the play itself was just as fantastic as our pre-show antics.

That night was a scream—literally and figuratively—and it's one we’ll never forget! The combination of our terrifyingly good costumes, the intimate theater, and the hilarious scare we gave that poor girl made it one of the best nights we’ve ever had.
